Great Livin!

Dolly Parton’s new carnival-themed video for her latest single Better Get To Living, came out this week and we couldn’t help but think how great she looks now. Not only is she a talented singer/songwriter and savvy business woman, but on top of everything else she proves that 60 is the new 40. Dolly has stated in the past that she is not ashamed of having plastic surgery because she wants to look her best for her fans and believes anyone who wants to have it done, has the money to pay for it, thinks it will improve their self-esteem and visits a licensed and qualified doctor for the procedure should go ahead and do it!

"I’ve had lots of work done. I’ll have some more done when I need it. I always said, 'If I see something sagging, bagging and dragging, I’m going to nip it, tuck it, and suck it.' Whatever needs to be done.”

Dolly, we love your outlook and zest for life. Your song is the perfect anthem to live your life to the fullest!

New York, Ready or Not!

We are taking over New York this week. We are on the Reuters "Digital Billboard" in Times Square! We always knew our name should be in bright lights…Check us out!

The Return of The Well-Dressed Man

Details Magazine, in the Power and Influence issue out this month, have listed the top 50 men who have taken up our “head space” meaning that whether we wanted to or not, we have thought about them quite a bit this past year. While some of them have been a bit confusing, such as #7 Kevin Federline as Father of the Year, we can’t help but agree with #45, The Well Dressed Man.

Men who in the past symbolized The Well Dressed Man were Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Gregory Peck and now the return of the The Well Dressed Man is one of our Hollywood’s Hottest Looks, George Clooney. These men have a strong jaw and cool style so it’s no wonder our patients continue to ask us to help them replicate their look. Thank goodness The Well Dressed Man has returned to Hollywood!

GQ Men of the Year

One of our favorite GQ issues of the year has just come out, Men of the Year (MOTY).The MOTY list ranges from former President Bill Clinton to Agent 007, otherwise know as Daniel Craig. We loved the latest James Bond movie and lately, many of our patients have been coming in with pictures of Daniel Craig. After we tally our votes, we wouldn’t be surprised if he appeared on next years Hollywood’s Hottest Looks list. We bet you can’t wait till January for the latest installment of Hollywood’s Hottest Looks!

Celebrity Apprentice…

Nely Galan, former entertainment president of the Telemundo network and executive producer (and "life coach") of "The Swan," will be one of the 14 stars that will be a part of "Celebrity Apprentice." We like Nely because with “The Swan” she demonstrated how anything is possible with a makeover of body, mind, and style.

The celebrities will not compete for a job in Donald Trump’s empire, but will have to compete, forming two teams, in several tasks around New York, in their attempt to raise money and awareness for their respective causes, using personal business skills, charm and fame, according to NBC. The contestant that will win at the end of the show will become the first “Celebrity Apprentice” and will receive the prize of $250,000 to be donated to charity of their choice. They have given Nely odds of 12/1 but we think they are underestimating her.

Cosmetic Surgery for Cats?

Owners have been known to have their cat surgically altered to win first place in the competitive arena of cat shows. In cat shows, judges dock points for any imperfection they see in the cat. Thus, cat breeders and showers have been covering up their cats' imperfections for more than a century by using various techniques. By fixing the eyelids to make the eyes have a certain shape, tail docking, having the shape of the ear changed in some way, or using hair dye to change the color of the cat's body, they can raise their chances in winning the prize.

At BHI, we don’t do cats but who are we to judge? If CATWOMAN can have plastic surgery, so can her cat.

BOTOX ALL AROUND!

We just found out that SIMON COWELL has regular Botox injections. When speaking to the Daily Mail in London, Simon said, "Yes, I've had Botox, but not in an obsessive way.” We aren’t quite sure what an “obsessive way is” but at BHI, we regularly treat men for Botox injections. In fact, there has been a 91 percent increase in the number of men opting for Botox since 2000. A while back, we were featured on E! for a segment called “BroTox” since Patrick Dempsey admitted to having Botox to avoid looking like the “old guy on the set.” To all the men who have Botox done, CHEERS!

NIP/TUCK continues to be on a winning streak this season. It is the #1 show on Basic Cable with women ages 18-34 and 18-49 for two weeks in a row. At BHI, we know how NIP/TUCK feels. We are #1 with women of ALL ages year round! Happy Birthday, Dylan and congrats on another fabulous season of NIP/TUCK.

We know Hollywood’s Hottest Looks!

Like we have said before, nobody knows Hollywood’s Hottest Looks better than we do and PEOPLE magazine has just confirmed it. This years Sexiest Man Alive is none other than our 2007 Hollywood’s Hottest Chin/Jawline, Matt Damon.

Other men on the "Sexiest" list include Patrick Dempsey, Ryan Reynolds, Brad Pitt, James Macavoy, Johnny Depp, Dave Annable, Will Smith, Javier Bardem, Shemar Moore, Ben Affleck, Adrian Grenier, Will Yun Lee and Justin Timberlake.

Interestingly enough, the other men on the list also happen to be either from our current or past Hollywood’s Hottest Looks list. Odd coincidence or did PEOPLE magazine use our Hollywood’s Hottest List as a resource? We don’t know about that but congratulations to all the “Sexiest Men.”

Surgery in the Womb?

Lately, it seems like we are running into some of the most outlandish plastic surgery stories. Last week it was Vulcan ears and now prenatal cosmetic surgery! Immediately, we knew this story was a fake when the mother said:

"I don't want my own child to have to wait thirty years like I did. We've seen sonogram pictures that show she's likely to have a sizeable schnoz, too. Why should she suffer from it when the science and technology now exists to make kids still more perfect little human beings, ready to take on the world the moment they emerge, and not predisposed to all the insecurities that result from something like that. If it makes just one kid more confident, it'll all be worthwhile."

Turns out that Lalatimes.com, where we found this article, is about left coast humor and all that is absurd in California, haha we get it! In Beverly Hills some people can be sooo superficial that they may even do plastic surgery in the womb. We agree that if rhinoplasty improves self confidence, then it is completely worth it. But even if the science and technology was possible, we don’t know anyone that would perform this surgery.

Happy Birthday, Ryan Gosling

Ryan has come a long way since his Mickey Mouse Club days! His latest movie, Lars and the Real Girl, is a quirky movie about a painfully shy man with social issues that orders a life-sized anatomically correct doll and treats her as his girl friend. As odd as it sounds, it was a strangely touching movie and Ryan demonstrates again his remarkable talent at such at a young age. Congratulations on turning 27!

A while back there was speculation that Ryan underwent rhinoplasty. He might have. He might not have. Looking at some of the before and after images it is possible that he might have shaved down the bump on his nose, but it is subtle and could be the shifting of his bone structure as he ages. Either way, we think 2008 will be another great year for Ryan. We wouldn’t be surprised if this was another Oscar nomination for him and more importantly, his first year on Hollywood’s Hottest Looks!

Not Santa!

Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, England has placed their Santas on a grueling weight loss program. Named, Bluewater’s Santa Boot Camp, the month long camp will see Santas getting in shape for Christmas. According to Bluewater’s Marketing Manager, “society has changed and Santa needs to reflect this change.”

While we don’t think that Santa should undergo liposuction to lose the weight, it wouldn’t hurt to lose some pounds. We all know that sit-ups aren’t always enough. More than 1 million US men had cosmetic plastic surgery in 2006, and liposuction has become the most popular form of cosmetic surgery among men. “Oh by Golly,” can you still be jolly and have a wash board stomach?

Au Natural

Our 2005 Hollywood’s Hottest Nose Nicole Kidman denies she has gone under the knife and that she has never seen a Botox® needle.

"To be honest, I am completely natural," Kidman tells Marie Claire magazine. "I have nothing in my face or anything," she says. Kidman, 40, says she does not judge people who have had plastic surgery. "Anybody can do anything to themselves and their bodies," she says.

We are not suggesting that Kidman has ever done Botox®, but to never see a Botox® needle? You can easily close your eyes, and imagine.
Just a suggestion.

Holy Star Trek!

Apparently a recent trend in the New York music scene is undergoing plastic surgery to obtaining a permanent pair of Star Trek Vulcan ears! We aren’t sure how true this is, but this body modification is said to enhance the music listening experience. Done under local anesthesia, the plastic surgeon supposedly uses existing ear cartilage and skin to extend the top of the ear, and after three to four weeks, is healed enough to convincingly start telling people to live long and prosper. Developed by Hungarian plastic surgeon, Dr. Lajos Nagy, it is said to be safe and easily tolerated.
We have always said that ears are among the most noticeable of features, and we regularly do otoplasty for children and adults alike who have endured years of teasing about the appearance of their protruding ears. But we are speechless on Dr. Spock ears!

She is a Winner to Us!

We were watching Dancing with the Stars earlier this week and in spite of the fact that actress Jane Seymour and partner Tony Dovolani had the lowest judges' scores and were ultimately eliminated, we think she looked marvelous! The former Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman star recently admitted to People Magazine using Botox and having plastic surgery for her eyes and breasts even though in the past she has denied having any work done.

We understand her hesitation with endorsing plastic surgery since it is a serious decision but we are glad that she finally let people know her secret formula to looking amazing!
